I work primarily with my hands. I use many different types of techniques with specific intent both locally and to a region of the body.
Treatment of joints and joint structures
- Manipulation, a quick jerk with a pop sound in the joint, for the joint surface
- Mobilization, rhythmic focus into the joint, to loosen the joint capsule and ligaments
- Muscle energy technique, to get the muscles related to a joint to reduce tension
Fascial treatment (connective tissue)
- Stretching of the connective tissue
– Over muscles
– About organs and their suspension
– Around nerves and vessels - Listen/follow where the tissue is pulling
Cranial treatment (craniosacral therapy)
- Stimulate the joints (sutures)
- Stretch the connective tissue divisions and linings (membranes)
- Stimulate the cranial rhythm
The most important thing is not the technique itself, but which technique suits the given situation. The purpose and philosophy behind the treatment are crucial for the choice of treatment strategy.
