World-class manual therapy training developed by Jean-Pierre Barral
For over 35 years, The Barral Institute (BI) has trained manual therapists in evidence-informed and evidence-based disciplines. Our disciplines and techniques have been proven to increase the effectiveness of client treatments, helping our alumni rapidly expand their therapy practices. BI supports over 100,000 manual therapists in 122 countries with recognized healthcare training and offers continuing education and certification based on the innovative manual therapies developed in clinical practice by world-renowned French osteopath and physiotherapist Jean-Pierre Barral. His development of visceral manipulation, neural manipulation and new manual articular approaches, as well as his ongoing development of manual therapies, have earned him an international reputation and established him as a leader in integrative, whole-person, manual therapy education, clinical services and ongoing research.
Jean-Pierre Barral named his flagship discipline “Visceral Manipulation” in the 1970s while developing this manual therapy. TIME Magazine named him one of America’s “Next Wave of Innovators” for his clinical applications of Visceral Manipulation. BI offers Barral’s research, experience, and therapy disciplines through high-quality educational programs to help people all over the world.
Through clinical and scientific research, Barral, along with his two other academic supervisors, Alain Croibier and Gail Wetzler, continue to explore the role of manual therapies and their relationship to a person's well-being. Barral, Croibier and Wetzler have gone on to develop additional manual therapies and clinical applications, which are now taught to healthcare professionals through BI's educational programs.
With an ever-growing range of educational courses, BI offers an innovative curriculum that will help you continue to transform your passion into a lifelong, fulfilling career. Join us as we continue to advance healthcare through client-focused, manual therapy that optimizes health and well-being.
